You can use a factory later model roll bar with a little fitting and drilling, no big deal. If you want buckets, you'll have to fabricate some brackets, celica seats work well.

Metal Tec is a first rate product with first rate customer service. I am a very happy customer. Quality is amazing and price is very fair.
They now sell completely welded cages. If you buy a kit, get it installed by a certified welder. To save money, get a buddy with a welder to help you tack it all together and then a professional welder tig or mig it together. You'll save a lot of money by doing the fit up yourself and then get 1st rate safety by having a pro weld it up.
Roll Cages are not beginner welder projects! And in my opinion, not a good project for a shade tree welder (even if they charge money that does not mean they are a professional tradesman). If you pay someone, ask to see some paper certs! It could save your life!
For seats, check out Beard, Corbea, etc. VW mail order shops sell them the cheapest but look for the real cost by the time you buy all of the stuff you need like seat rails, seat belts etc. It can cost a few bucks. Safest bet is to the seats and belts into the cage. Easiest and cheapest would be to get some bucket seats and stock brackets from a 73 or newer FJ40 and drill the holes to mount them in your truck. Not the safest, but safer than you have now.
Their prewelded cages are probably your best bet.

Got a stock roll-bar sitting on my patio..only problems it's in CA!! Cost you more to ship it than it's worth. If you plan on doing any wheelin', go for a good strong one fabed up out of DOM....don't waste your time with the stock bars.

I would highly recommend going to an after market roll cage rather than factory. You are looking at a thickness difference of .072" (factory) and what we offer .120 or .125" wall tubing. It is practically double in size for thickness.
We do offer fully built cages starting at $1225 and the price goes up from there with additional accessories. We do have a seat cradle system as well for those that want to run after market seats. We have gotten the seat cradle the lowest possible with the stock gas tank with clearing the fuel lines etc. If you are interested give us a call at 1-800-839-0684 ext. 40 for me LT.

X10 for The Metaltech Cage. I actually bought one that he welded up and then shipped. It worked out great.
As far as aftermarket seats, I bought Mastercraft Baja RS seats and I would say they are the most comfortable seat I have sat in for a while.
Good Luck!

I like those seats, Interesting way to run the shoulder straps. Any particular reason? Other than the obvious.

Did I go to the right website? Over $500 a seat?

Charlie, a lot of us have bought junkyard seats from Volvos, Hondas, Toyotas, etc. for $50 a pair. You will have to modify the brackets, but it's not too hard.
You can play around with the Search Engine here and find hundreds of threads and tons of options. Also, post for a roll bar in the Wanted Section.

I had to build a custom bracket due to the MAF 28 Gallon Tank. Tough to see because I had it Line-X covered to match teh rest of teh interior.

being slightly lazy here and slightly highjacking. Does the metal tech front down bars work with the windshield latches on a '66 (not sure if the 69 that started this thread has the same latches)
