No pics, but I bet you can find some clip-type mounts from a fireman supply catalog or emergency/ safety company. Those catalogs are completely geeked out for flashlight crap. I used to also see them in the hord of paramiltary crap that I used to get in the mail as I was a reloader for some time. Some of these miltary/surplus companies sold them for years. I regret not buying a few myself, but with a soft top I won't even install a radio for fear that the top will get cut. The only thing I leave in me truck aside from the seats are a pack of matches, fix-a-flat and the registration.

go to the hardware store, there are several types of clamps they sell for various stuff that will work, I used some round clamps that have bolts with wingnuts to hold the flashlight, mounted it on the drivers side floorboard.

Mines on the tranny hump just rear of the shifter.
Clamps were from WallyWorld, made by Mag, I think they were between $5 and $10.

Mines on the front of the driver's rear wheel well. I used the mounting brackets from Maglite - got them at Wally World.

I went to a camping supply store and for some magnetic clips. They clip to the light and stick wherever you put it with no holes to drill.
They were 3 bucks each so I put ligths in all the cruisers.

I'd say locate it under one of the seats - so it doesn't come loose and nail you in an accident and so prying eyes don't get tempted when the top is off.

In the most recent 4wheel parts jeep catalogue there are some velcro type rollbar attached mag light holders. Also have some for a cell phone and drink holder. I think for $10 or $15..

An elegant solution is from FourTreks with Luke's modular clamps.

you can always locate a "quick fist". I plan on purchasing some for my flash lights, and fire extinger.
I believe you can find them at PORC in packs of two pretty reasonably. I also think 4x4 groupbuy.com has them as well.

Can't hit somebody with the Surefire....use a peice of PVC pipe and mount it up right and just drop the light in.

Hi All:
I have an old "Con-Ferr" brand center console between the front seats in my FJ40 (this the type that bolts on top of the factory "tray" that si between the front bucket seats.)
I mounted a three cell MagLite inside this console using genuine MagLite clips; it holds the flashlight very well and it is out of sight of the casual thief.
Regards,
Alan

PMK (Pat K.) uses those (white) PVC pipe repair fittings, they have a threaded open end cap and a rubber O ring type gasket or something inside... any how, he uses said fitting clamped to his roll cage bar, one each side. Very sweet set up, holds the mag lite firm yet quietly, which slides completely through the fitting.

KCPD was banned from carrying them years ago....for that very reason. Commonly referred to a "Ni&&er Knockers" Some carried the 6 "D" cell variety

I had a surefire. Not sure what model but it was bright as shit. The batteries didn't last long and they are $$$. I guess you could go rechargeable? But I heard the rechargeable aren't as bright.

I found this flash light on the side of the road, Its called a TerraLux, its really a rechargeable led work light, the one I found had the hanger on top broke off, but it is by far one of the coolest flashlights I have ever seen, It has 60 led's and it will definitely light it up. Perfect for under the hood work, and a charge lasts a really long time. Its really light weight so Im going to mount it like mentioned earlier with a piece of pvc capped at one end.
