Cruiser
1975 FJ40 with 2F
Funny how buying one turns into such an addiction. - Weber Carb (soon to be removed) - Rebuilt OEM carb to put on - OEM seats --> Chevy blazer seats --> Original seats - 4" skyjacker lift - Flowmaster exhaust - Flowmaster now installed! - 36" Super Swampers (TSL Radials) which I then put on 33" BFG AT (Wish I would have got MT now!) - Mickey Thompson Rims - __________________ `·. , . .·´¯`·. , . .·´¯`·. , . .·´¯`· .·´¯`·..><((((º>`·.¸¸.·´¯`.¸.·´¯`·...¸ Last edited by WaAkFJ; 03-26-08 at 05:21 PM. |

About 6 months later, I saw a Land Cruiser in my town. It was a project. I bought it.
Here are some things that have been done: -- disassembled whole Cruiser. The tub is still on the frame but that is about it -- The 2F has been prepped and painted for installation. -- POR15'd the frame -- cleaned up the seats / brackets -- cleaned up all the brackets -- sanded Cruiser for paint (bought PPG paint, Dune Beige since I didn't want to do white) Ready for the 2f install: __________________ `·. , . .·´¯`·. , . .·´¯`·. , . .·´¯`· .·´¯`·..><((((º>`·.¸¸.·´¯`.¸.·´¯`·...¸ Last edited by WaAkFJ; 12-12-07 at 03:49 PM. |

I think I should have got the 60" load bars. These are the 55"
I like the THule rack though. Use this crusier to move trees (fell trees too), and as the general “lawn tractor” as well as the DD in the summer. __________________ `·. , . .·´¯`·. , . .·´¯`·. , . .·´¯`· .·´¯`·..><((((º>`·.¸¸.·´¯`.¸.·´¯`·...¸ Last edited by WaAkFJ; 12-12-07 at 03:47 PM. |

Nothing like scratchin' the dog to take the agrevation out of a bad day of wrenching. Sorry to hear that.
Suprised nobody has invented a wiper for the inside. Nice rigs. __________________ '69 fj40 CSC#103 A dry heat still cooks a turkey |

Hey Man,
What part of Alaska are you from? I'm up in the North Pole area. It's funny how addicting this Cruiser fascination becomes isn't it? You have a very cool fleet man. Keep up the good work, ad take some pics of your fab work when you have time. Great story! Hang in there, you will have plenty of time for the trucks when school is finished.

The manual steering with 36's was a bit much for you? Nice trucks and good story, man.

Thanks for the encouragement!
That was really the reason. The first time I drove it was tough, since I tried to turn the tires when the truck was stationary...now I know better. I plan on doing Mini PS. I did have all the brackets and pumps, but sold them for tuition money. That's what I figured...it's still hard to remember that, but I'll be done soon. They can sit til then.. __________________ `·. , . .·´¯`·. , . .·´¯`·. , . .·´¯`· .·´¯`·..><((((º>`·.¸¸.·´¯`.¸.·´¯`·...¸ Last edited by WaAkFJ; 12-12-07 at 03:49 PM. |

Get a hold of me when you get back up here, and we can go wheelin'. Cool to see another Alaskan out there.

I'm glad Steve didn't let you out of ROTW. Great story, and we all want more.
Sorry to hear about your buddy. They are always sorely missed... even when they chew up your good stuff. Please more pics and definitely some showing these new fab skills.

Great story. Not sure where you are going to school in washington, I'm in Arlington, if you need a shop to do some work in let me know. I don't have space for long term work, but if you need a spot for some welding/maintanence let me know..
