| QUESTION does the 76-80 disc brake master have residual valve in the front disc line I was looking at the EPC today and noticed this valve in both ports on the master for 75/09 - 80/07 FJ40/55 BJ40 disc brake .are these the residual valves ? if so
i thought that it had been posted that there wasn't one in the front, only one in the rear for the drums ,that needs to be removed when swapping to rear disc's ,the epc shows 2 also listing different part #'s for each . is there a residual valve for the disc brakes ? I don't have any in my master ,just curious
maybe i need one .

| I will be interested in the answer. I just bought a master cylinder/booster off of a 76 Pig and have ordered the rebuild kit listed for it from SOR, as I am getting the parts together for a front disc conversion.
However, I haven't taken the old one apart yet.

| just opened up this one, not sure what year it is , but it has one in both ,the master looks like a disc brake master with the smaller reservoir ,it has the older style residual valves .

| theoretically there was a 2lb one in the front line, as compared to the 6lb one in a drum front/rear, but apparently things will work fine without the two pounder in a disc setup Residual Pressure Valve..

In the USA, 08/75 40/55 series trucks recieved the front disc axle...
Oh, and there should be a residual pressure valve in the disc and drum circuits...

| gladly, mine is also a 4/75. when i got it 14 months ago we had to tow it home, all the time raving how well i tracked. finally got running ,only to find out most all the drums were frozen to the shoes. anyway, after a rebuild they work great. these will stop on a dime. discs maybe someday but a priority now. jim
