I took my rear drums in to be machined, but the shop doesn't have the specs for my March 1970 FJ40. If anyone can post the inside diameter for the drums, front and rear, I would appreciate it. Currently searching, but the search function is not friendly to me. thanks, liko

using search I found 11.5" or 292mm, not sure if this is for my year-1970 and/or if it is front or rear drums.

in my FSM is says for front brakes, the drum inner diameter limit is 297 mm (11.70 in). I am not sure if this is for the 1970 model or not but I am assuming the brake drums did not change.

The same measurements are listed for rear for the fj45, hj45 & fj55 (fire truck).

also EXCEPT fj45, hj45 &fj55 (fire truck) the limit for the rear is 292mm (11.50 in)

So it looks like 297mm for the front and 292mm for the rear. Hope this helps you out.
