Rear frame x-member

well I've been debating this problem for some time now. after a brief conversation regarding my shackle placement it's going to have to be replaced. currently the shackle hangers are welded on the frame and most likely not in the right place. The PO torched off the ends of the frame where the taillights went. Why I have no clue.

So I have been sorting out a solution:

A) replace the frame-- don't want to go throught the hassle right now. a matkins frame or possibly Aqualu's new frame is in the future (1-2 years done the road)

B) replace the cross member and spring perches--I would like to use some generic steel rather than spending 200-300 bucks for a replacement. There is no sense in spending alot money on something that's going to be tossed out in a year or two.

C) Suck it up and drive it anyway-- what scares me slight bowing of the shackles outward.

I'm curious to whar others have done to solve their problems with the rear cross members. thanks Ken

Got any pics? It's hard to tell what you've got going on here.

No pics available right know I just need a new cross member and need to relocate those rear spring hanger to the proper location with a good sound attachement.

Would a good peice of channel steel take care of this problem? or should I order a rear xmember and be done with it. I saw a site not too long ago that had some nice steel peices for sale but lost the damn link.
