Simple 55 question, maybe, coulcn't find an answer in search.....

In what year did the Padded dash become standard or were they always standard? You know, the hard foam.....

from the looks of the SOR page, they were there since 68, but the '72 on ones are a bit different, though from a link on the iron pig preservation society page, it looks like later ones can be trimmed to fit.

And somehow the dash looked very 70's.....Always wanted a 55, think I will pick this one up!

July 2006 we crossed the Nullarbor Plain (11,500km West to East Coast Australia and back) in our 1976 FJ55 Landcruiser (stock with Extractors, Duel battery, Inverter, Overlander roofrack & third row seats -seating capacity 8), towing a camper van. Nothing is built to last like a Landcruiser !

Is 72 the changeover year? I would like to put the perfect one from my trail truck 78 in to my resto 73
