Matkins frames

Anybody use them or had any feed back? My frame has a few small issues, mainly at the rear cross member and the body mounts. I had an area where the outer frame was starting to seperate from the inner at the front leaf spring hanger. Additionally, it appears that the frame has been repaired at the rear spring hangers.

the truck is a 1978 and while it's typical in the advanced rust stage, I'm thinking of buying a new body and frame this year and going full tilt with it. I know the cost of the bodies approx. (shipping I'm clueless, for the east coast I'm sure it's up there). The cost I'm curious about is the frame from matkins and if it's worth the price. I wonder if they would stamp my serial number into it?

No experience, but it sounds like an expensive endeavor. Why not buy a good parts rig with a decent frame and body and switch over the drive train. I may have what you need if you want to go that route. Feel free to PM me.

What kinda bodies do you have? looking for nice 78ish' good soild underside, mounts, wheel wells, sill etc. minor rocker and 1/4 panel work at max only.

I need something solid. I'd rather spend 4grand on an aluminum body then spend that on bodywork for another rustbucket.

The Matkins frames are really nice. They are extremely heavy since they are made out of rectangular tube, but I think they are much stronger then the stock frame.

There just down the street from me here in Billings, I have gone by several times to talk to them about several problems they had early they called me up to look at my frame, but they have a very heavy product definatly heavier than stock. I htink it's a great product, not affiliated in any way with them, cheers, Larry

I got a frame from cruiserparts.net and it was clean and straight and only $600 plus shipping. Shipping was $100 because they had a guy going to NJ about an hour from me so I picked it up there.
