Ok well I felt like $hit when I left the cities... but got a few Power Aids in me and a McDonalds greasy burger and I was back on my feet by the time I got home about 1:30 PM sunday... I went out into the shop and hung my springs and got the axles in place just put everything finger tight for now. It went well!

Had a problem with my house furnace and it was -20 below so I ended up calling the repair guy when my house temp droped to 35 and pretty much ended up messing around with that for the remainder of the night...

I worked for about 3 hours tonight sorry no pics because all I got done was changing all the shackles to the right way (which was a huge PITA BTW) . then tighten up all the bolts for the suspention. got that all done and started getting all the parts all set up for the break conversion in the rear... picked up my loaded Monti calipers at NAPA today... put a few coats of red caliper paint on them....... Guess I was not happy with what they looked like, I whiped them down really well with wax and grease remover before I started but they still had a few spots that would not hold paint.... so I will let them dry and wipe them down again and see if I can get them to hold the paint... if not well guess it is only the calipers....

on another note I just wanted to share with everyone an accident that happend today.... I had the frame up in the air and was jacking it up as high as I could so I could get under it.... well the frame slipped out from under the jack... I was very very luck that I had put a safty Jack stand in that was under the cross members so it stoped it before it could hit the ground or worse yet me, since i was about to crawl under it.... I always use jack stands and always put at least one "safety" stand in there just in case...... well this time it was worth the 1000 times I have done it in the past with no problems... Guess I was debating wether I should post this or not... since it makes me look like a dumb ass because I should not have been jacking the frame like this.... but I guess I hoped you guys would all stop and add the "safety jack" like I did on your next project...

wow sketchy...my buddy did the same thing a few weeks ago...jack slipped...only he was under it and didnt have a safety jack...luckly the car had its wheels on it so hit didnt crush his skull, but he did go all tingly after the blow....just figures he was working on a Heep

ok... well you have seen my new rims and tires... well I could not wait to get them on and see how they looked... even though I knew I would be taking them off again soon to do the brakes I put my tires on.... man do they look cool.... I am so happy with what they look like... they look so cool... My girl friend finally came into my shop to look at what I have been working on every night.... got to say she was impressed.... (but she called me a grease monkey)

ok... well had a cocktail and hung out with my Gf for a while.... she is leaving for the weekend so we went out to dinner.... after that got a few things ready for my rear brake disc. conversion... I told you I painted my loaded calipers.. I still am not too happy with how they turned out... glad they are just calipers and not something anyone will look at often..

you will see my brackets I got from Poser... I did put a few coats of black paint on them, they come with all the hardware needed to install.. I got my rotors from Poser also... they are the same chevy rotors but the centers have been machined out to allow for the larger Landcruiser axel.. again Poser did this maching work for me also....
here are the parts... I want to have this mod done soon... pics will come as I do the mod...

well started doing my rear brakes today... it started out going alright... It was kind of a bitch to take off the rear of the drum... ended up cutting it off with a sawzall.... anyhow got the bracket on there and then put the caliper on.. pretty straight forward... put the wheel on and this is where it started getting shitty... the wheel was hitting the caliper... ended up calling Poser (three times... thanks man!!) well he told me to put washers behind the wheel to try to figure out how much of a spacer I would need with the wheel that I have...... I ordered a wheel with 2.5" back spacing for this reason, so I would not have to deal with this... Poser said he has never seen a wheel that needs more than a 1/4 spacer to work... I am wondering if the wheel I got sent to me is not 2.5" back spacing and it is wrong all together... It is easy to see where the wheel is hitting the caliper because of the red paint...

what does everone think....

ok so I ended my day here at my girl friends house. I am watching her dog again as she is out of town on business and I was putting the pizza box in the ref. and I ended up spilling a pickle jar in her fridge (wonder who did not put the lid on tight, sure it was me, so I am not about to point fingers

)...... Man I was pissed... so I have spent the last half and hour cleaning her fridge.... dont know if I got it all... if my posts stop suddenly, you know... some one please call my mom, tell her I loved her... and for god sakes finish this truck!!!!

looks like your having the same problems with the rubbing as I had....but I only needed a 1/4 spacer ....
