now a few of the forms before concrete... this actually took us a while... had to make sure it was square and everything was at the correct depth. It was really not much fun and and I am glad it is done... Plus it rained a few days in there so it was solid mud... even though we tried to cover it... notice the footings for the lift!!!

What it looks like this morning... Turned out great... Had to stay on it until about 10:30 PM or so.... took that long in the rear corner before we could get it to set up enough to finish it...

Picked up my new Lift yesterday Nussbaum SPL 8000... I just downloaded the manual online so going to get to reading that soon.. Anyone ever heard of them? Made in Germany...

I have to say it is really really really FUCKING heavy... we had 5 guys and could've used 5 more... dont know how I am going to get this thing stood up and in my building... Currently it is stored in a friends garage until I get walls and a roof....

Pics as always...

Not much happend this weekend... Helped a friend pour footings on his new house he is buiding.... Before 2 weeks ago I have not poured much concret now 2 times in a week... hahaha... I like helping out my firends as I know it will always come back to me...

Did get some stuff ready for more concrete at my place. going to pour the dog kennel and side walk to the house and pad out front of the garage door... probably spend most of the week on getting things lined up and ready... I have to say, I can do most things... just takes me a while to learn as I am going... I want to lay all this stuff out myself and not use my dad.... This is part of the deal... when I am done with this shop... If I had to... I want to be able to build it from ground up... by myself.... without my dad... or anyone......... Just part of the deal I guess.....

Ordering lumber tomorrow and also picking up some landscaping stuff.. Been driving the Tundra every day... Man that thing uses gas.... and it is $3.10 here... It was over $40 to fill the Honda on friday... what a crime!!!

Hope I can show you guys some walls in a week or two..

on another note... went to see a really good friend of mine (Furball, you have heard of me talk about him) race his car on saturday... great time and I think I will be there every saturday I can... Good job little man...

BTW Poser I know this is not Tech stuff.. PM if I can not post this stuff on my build thread..

Awesome build thread

BTW, over here we pay $1.57 per litre which would work out to about $5.96 per gallon hope that makes you feel better it cost me $80 to fill the Commodore the other day

Got about half the walls up yesterday... We have been working around the rain here for the last week.. so seems we dont get much time to get anything done.. also rented a saw to cut relief cuts in the concrete on Tue.

My dad did not have to work yesterday so he was able to build most of the walls while I was at work... It was a huge help.. I also wanted to point out that we snapped our lines we were with in 1/8" on square our first try !!! so needless to say we did not bother moving our lines for 1/16 of and inch.

Ted stopped up yesterday to show me his new Volkswagen Cabriolet.... I know what you are all thinking and no Ted is not a chick... soooo... Guess that really only leaves one other question... hummm... If I dont ask maybe he will not tell me...

anyway... Here are a few pics... Proabably no more until there is a roof on this thing... going to be working everyday, as long as the rain holds out!

Sunday Wheeler and Miller can back up and we worked most of the day… Went to the Bar for the rest of it… Probably got a good 6-8 hours into putting up these Trusses, but that included all the layout and all the bracing and squaring up of all the walls… I went better than I thought but still lots of work and I am really glad it is done…

Thanks again for all your help guys!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't know if you are internet savy or not, but a good idea would be to wire it with ethernet cable while you are at it. I just finished my garage and it is the only garage in my "suburb town" that is fully wired. I use it for mud.com when I am out working on the FJ, as well as it can double as phone line. Technology is key, you gotta love it.

Looks Great more Pics.

Thanks.

well I am doing all metal inside so all wiring will be run in conduit on the outside of the walls so it can easily be added to at any time... but I think I will be going all wirless if I get internet out there... I currently do not have internet at my house... I am an accountant so bTT I leave work I want nothing more to do with this computer...

So, Aaron, can you get me a deal on the Presidential Suite at your resort? I've got some good inside info that the Prez is not coming, so the suite should be available

nope just got the new kind of concrete that has fiber already in it... no need to lay wire when having a slab this size.. good up to 1700 PSI.

Dont think we would let him stay anyway... we dont let trash in our resort.... yea I can get you like half off most any room, that is as long as we are not 80% full and I can only book 2 weeks out.. unless I sweet talk the reservations girls... but I will need lots of to make that happen... not real easy on the eyes... hahaha!!

www.maddens.com let me know if you want to stay here... keep your boat on the water as long as you are here... Mine is on the water also...

oh yea I can get you on the golf courses for free too... but I dont play because golf sucks... but I will ride along in the cart and drink with you...

Let me know dates so I can check for availability... Get your Buddy Poser to take a weekend off and hang out at the lake also!!!

Ok we will talk Lift Tech today... took 2 evenings but my dad and I got my lift in the air and got it all set up... here is a little write up of how we put this thing up...

pic #1 moved both lifts to the edge of the wall...

Pic #2 you can see what we used as a beam to run along the rafters... This is from an old roll in Dock my dad had laying around at his house... dont really know what it was before that... I am sure someone used it to make the dock... well that is 10' long and we used 2x4's to brace it up so it would not tip from side to side...

Pic #3 We measured out everything and layed out exactly where the lift needed to be... remember I have a 15" footing of concrete under them... pic #3 is actually of a chalk line that we used as a Plumbob (spelling???) anyway.. never knew you could use a chalk line for that.... We figured out where to hook the come along to the beam by doing this

Pic #4 this is my dad using the come along to get the lift in postition... we actually lifted them up as you see and then they would slow swing into position... we then slow let them down...

Pic#5 Dad on the other side... Pretty much the same..

Pic #6 I had to get up to finish the second side... see we have two come alongs on there... I ran the main one and my dad would run the second one... we just used that one to make damn sure if somthing happend to the first one that this thing was not going anywhere.
