I went with a 1 wire (GM style) 100 amp alternator about 6 months ago. I love it.

Remember if you do, though, the ground wire coming off the old external regulator is the common ground that supplies the instrument panel, so be aware that if you remove it, you will need to make sure you reconnect the ground wire to the chassis.

So how do you deal with the 40A amp meter if you have a 100 amp alternator?
