Steering question

has anyone done a rack and pinon conversion on an fj40 before? the better question is rack and pinon possible on a solid front axel? im new at all this and ive just started building my cruiser a few months ago....

why fix what aint broke.





by this i mean whats wrong with sag or mini truck or 60,



might not be as easy as the forementioned

thanks and i know youre right about it being best to just do convetional im pretty much looking for the cheapest way to do a ps conversion and someone suggested rack and pinon

Hahahaa.... I did see a rack and pinion conversion on a solid axle once... it was an f'ing nightmare.

A rack is not practical on a solid axle 4x4. I think maybe someone was playing with you a bit when they suggested that. You could get back at them by asking what they think the gap on platinum plugs for your diesel should be set at.
