Official Projekt "Rusty" Buildup thread

Ok so now that I've finally picked a name for my project cruiser I figured my slow buildup thread would be needed. A lot of my mods are missing pics since I don't have a digi-cam and my sister who does is normally busy with schoolwork.

Purchase 10/05:
Already has a 4" Lift and 33x12.5 BFG MudTerrain's
Has PTO and one really ugly carpet kit.
Lots of rust I have yet to discover.
Aluminum Wheels
Pics from about 2-3 week after owning it that shows installed rear seat and lots of crap

Late Summer '06:
Rear sill comes off with some time and my own two hands:

You can see what I have to make sure the floor doesn't cave in untill I fix the rear sill

About 1 week later:
Removed rear doors due to rust and noise

Today 10/08/06:
My cruiser has been half torn apart for about 1 week now. I am in the process of doing a SOA conversion with FJ55 rear springs. Still waiting on USPS to get my package here from Ruff Stuff.

I will try to get pics of the cruiser with it's rear axle sitting behind it

To be continued...

Will update as necessary. Due to some money issues right now it's gonna be a loooong buildup.

Took some pics of how the truck sits yesterday. Took a wire wheel to the axle as prep for the spring perches. Can't wait for those spring hangers from ruffstuff!

Actually it's fixed I just don't have any pics of that yet What is amusing is that I kept it upside-down for so long just because it made mud guys nuts

Thanks Albee I actually was wearing goggles you can't see them at that angle. Oh and FYI it was a wire wheel . I'm excited for those springhangers to show up so I can get this DONE

Guess not

I should have all my parts before the weekend so we'll be able to get this done and get it out of the way of other cruisers in the shop

Those wire wheels on the grinders are the way to go, looks like you'll be doing a fair bit of that.
Atleast it runs, what's the engine bay like?

Next time I have the camera with me I will take pics. The only difference from stock is the P/S, and i've removed the smog pump/air rail

Ok so the springhangers are HERE. They've actually been here since Wednesday IIRC but they made it for sure. Thanks again to RuffStuff for their great customer service and quick replies! Going down to the shop Sunday to put this thing back together. Off to go paint the springs. Will try to get a camera over for some shots of the cruiser porn (55 springs, hangers, bolts/metal for shackles, etc)

Great to see your breathing some life back into the old girl! I must admit I cringe everytime I see your back end, (back end of the cruiser that is!!!).

Keep it up,

Lup
