Welcome to the mud forums. I'll leave the official salute for a non-rookie... I wouldn't want to hurt myself.

At any rate, depending on where the squeak is coming from. Here is a thread that discusses two items (sort of): 1. a "metal thingy" inside a boot that needs lubed; 2. noisy clock spring. From my experience and understanding the clock spring is a very common problem.

BTW the clock spring (aka spiral cable) is a little item that lets the wires to the steering wheel stay connected as it goes around. If you find that to be the problem make sure to take proper precautions if you work on it... airbags can get kind of touchy.
