It is a diaphragm mounted on the front of the carb that turns up the idle when you turn on the AC. There is a solenoid mounted on the driver side fender which gets vacuum from the intake manifold right next to where the brake booster gets its vacuum. The solenoid opens the valve when you turn on the ac and sends vacuum to the diagram that turns up the idle which is adjusted with a small screw on the linkage on the carb to raise or lower the idle.
