I am pretty sure the quote from the first post is mine. As far as I know, the above is correct. I fixed my horn with the washers based on info and help from cahilc on the board. I just used small washers from a set of washers I purchased at Sears.

It works, but it is best to fix your horn correctly (as in according to factory specs). The shimmed horn should just be a temporary fix, even though mine has been shimmed for about 6 months now.
