You wouldn't have a choice. It's insurance. When they total your car, you don't get a brand new car in replacement, you get the current value of the car. Same thing here. Sure it's their fault, but all they are obligated to do is put you back out the door in an equivalent state to when you came in.
Plus there's a lot to be said for agreeing to a good compromise. If you're the a-hole that sues the dealership to get a new motor, what kind of service do you think you're going to get from then on out? Or, if you're the guy that worked with them on a good compromise, if you've got issues down the road, you're probably going to get better service.
