If I recall correctly, when we bought, you were forced to escrow the taxes and insurance unless you could cough up a downpayment in excess of 20%. We worked hard so that the rule would not apply to us.

Although, you CAN pay those county taxes in person here, if you wish. Of course, you'll have to wait in line with all the folks wishing to renew their vehicles registrations and transfer their titles because the County Tax Assessor/Collector's Office is where that all happens.
