For the safety of others wait abit and get some hubs and the locker at the same time.
From personal experience, and the only experience I have to keep it locked on all 4 on pavement... It will cause more trouble than its worth.
Locked mine up to drive through a flooded waterway, just to be sure if i lost traction there was hope one of the four would grab. Got through the rapid flowing water easily, just got my feet wet from the onslaught against my door seal... Pulled up on the turn and it wouldnt do anything but go straight... This is on a flooding street making a right turn up hill. I had to go from 4hi to 2hi just to make a turn. I could feel the bind in the drivetrain, have had a horrible exhaust leak ever since... I would not/could not drive a locked AWD on pavement. IT wouldnt fly.
Consdering Im using a little 4banger, 4.10s, AUSSIEs, and 31's!
There is real life experience. On WET pavement, with 31's!
Do it, leave your truck to me in your will... I would enjoy it

BTW- I think it was Hilux that told me to check motormounts, and you was right!
