Rick, that is an excellent primer/reminder for everyone.
I would like to mention two things most folks take for granted but IMHO are of utmost importance.
First, have frame-mounted recovery points suitable for your vehicle front and rear.
Second, this ride is not the time or place to do maintenance. Make sure everything is taken care of prior to this ride and your vehicle is in top running condition. Breakage is one thing; not having a maintained, well-running vehicle for this one is not fair to the group.
