I know that you said you already ruled-out the brakes, but here's what I found causing my noise. My annoying squeak from the L/F turned-out to be coming from where the brake pads came in contat with the calipers. The metal surfaces were shiny where they were contacting eachother. I took them out, put anti-sieze on the edges, and now it's gone. It was hard to diagnose as I could only hear it while driving. I put it up on the hoist at work and removed the wheel. With the truck in drive, I inspected the L/F brakes, but it would not make the noise. That is when I noticed the pads sliding just slightly back and forth on the caliper causing the noise.

Hope you find-out what it is soon, I know how annoying and frusterating it is.
