What year is your 80? Jiggawu and I installed these on his, a '94. If you have to remove the heat shield beware it is two pieces and the upper piece will be stuck up there. If you have a pre-95 do a thorough search on the 80 tech forum before you even start. There are a variety of install issues that people have had with these sliders. They get swept under the rug quickly by the Metal tech fan club over there, but they are valid issues.

On jiggawus, the assembly of the slider was so poor that we ended up having to grind away a bit of the cat guard support to get it to fit right. They seem to work OK on the trail but to me are not as advertised in terms of fitment on the pre-95s.

On another note, I am not trying to depress you now that you have just taken delivery. I am just hoping to save you some of the trouble jiggawu went through.
