If you post a pic of the carb you have a better chance at someone helping you ID it.

More than likely if the carb was on a cruiser it is either a 32/36 or a 38MM carb, which are easy to tell apart. A local parts store will probably not have a kit for an aftermarket carb like a weber.
Once you ID the carb, then you can get the right kit. I think the last time I bought a rebuild kit for a weber I got it off ebay. Other places you can get a kit are JTO, Manafre, CCOT, and many others. Google is your firend!
