Only thing with Rust Bullet is be careful if you brush it on... It can produce bubbles in the finish (from curing) even with proper surface prep. It happened to me, and I only found out after through searching of their FAQ.

"Q: 8. Do I need to stir Rust Bullet® before use?
A: Yes, Rust Bullet® should be stirred thoroughly prior to use. Avoid whipping air into Rust Bullet®. Shaking the container of Rust Bullet® prior to application may cause the formation of bubbles in the finish of the coating."

I didn't shake it, and stirred gently and still got bubbles -- turns out, it's also from out-gassing.

But the stuff is damn tough -- I've had to wire-wheel some of it off and it really sticks.

Good luck.
