Heck they could even go as far as to limit the types of gun powder used to make the ammo so that they limit the effective range, stopping power, and usefulness of said ammo.

The NRA fought a bill here recently that prohibited the transport of explosives(which includes ammunition). This bill would have effectively made getting ammo for a gun for all intensive purposes impossible.

Before you go and show your IQ by calling me names you might want to figure out if you are wrong first. That is twice in the past week you have done this.

And on a side note, what good is a firearm if you can't buy ammo for it? None!

Exactly, hence the death of a thousand cut's. It doesn't start with them knocking on your door.
