Any idea whats wrong with it? With that much difference it might be a bad valve.

Have you tried to put air pressure in that cyl with the valves closed?

Also, if you add oil to the cyl and it has little affect it could indicate a bad valve. The cylinder would have to be extremely bad for oil to not make a difference. Id test it out then pull the head.

You could bolt in a 22R or pickup V6. They came with R trans, but I have no idea if the input shafts are the same. You should at least be able to swap the LJ transfer case over to one of these though so long as it has an r150-1. Not sure about the mounts, but you would probably have to change those for the gassers. Sorry not much help.
