Won't work. The FJ tach takes a signal from the distributor or alt or something. The pre 90 Toyota diesels take a signal from a hall effect sensor that reads the teeth on the flywheel.
See if you even have a sensor in the bellhousing... being JDM it just might.
If not you will have to drill and tap.
The Autometer might be the simplest route as you won't get a 60 tach into your 40 cluster anyway.
