CHARLOTTE COUNTY: The body of a missing SCUBA diver was located by the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office Dive Team Wednesday afternoon.
Deputies say the body of 67-year-old Dale Witt was found between seven and eight miles offshore.
Now, the body will be taken to the Charlotte Medical Examiner’s office.
Witt was SCUBA diving on a charter boat on May 17 when he was reported missing. A two day search was called off by various agencies as they were unable to locate the diver.
