Sounds like the additive might just be some kind of octane booster. Do they list the main ingredient? Something like tetra-ethyl lead or MTBE. That might where they are getting the "lubricating" the engine thing from too.
Landtank...did changing your 02 sensors actually improve fuel economy, even if they didn't kick on the light yet? What mileage were they at?
It's funny that people are complaining about 14 mpg. I just recently got 14 in a tank after more than a year of 9-12 and I was estatic. That was on premium fuel though.
