I used to get similar MPGs on my 96 until I replaced the O2 sensors. Running an engine lean to increase MPGs is no big deal, do so without destroying the engine is the hard part.

How are you going to evaluate this setup to ensure you aren't damaging the engine? Or are you going to assume it's OK?
