Sometimes, I'm with a local who has permission to be on the property (hunting guide), sometimes I have permission to be on the property because I've made the request and sometimes I'm there because it abuts public land. I've never felt as if I'm trespassing and never bumped into an owner to express his/her displeasure. However, if the land is posted, I'll just drive by to the next covert.

As a northerner, I notice a huge difference down south. If you don't own it, don't go on it! Dunno why, but I surely sense it. In fact, the whole hunting lease thing doesn't even exist up north. I wish it did, as I'd like to get my hands on a few honey holes myself!

I've hunted quail on Az public lands (seems to be quite a bit out there), never saw another hunter and have had some of the most awesome hunting in my life!
I've hunted in Maine as well. It's just different. Hunting on private land here is the same as hunting on private land that is posted no hunting up there. It's trespassing.
