i have the geolander MT's (315 75 r16 if i can remember correctly) on my ford truck, i really like them, i think they havent been given the credit they ought to get. they work well enough in the winter and better than decent off the beaten path. Having said that they are a little soft and wore a bit fast on the ford diesel (which will happen on a heavier vehicle) and also may be getting better traction on the winter due to weight. Actually they sink in the mud a bit much under the old anchor. I would run them on a 80 that is a DD and weeekend off roader for sure, as for the ford i think it would benefit more from a larger and wider and harder tire such as a 38" toyo MT.
