Well if you think you can get enough for cheap, and you don't think it will dissapear in the future, then I say go for it. But the big thing to remember is if you ever plan on doing any big trips where you can't haul your own fuel and have to buy some, you will be hurt bad by the big consumption of a V8 monster. Think of say a trip to Alaska on a V8 or a nice 4banger turbo charged diesel. I'll pick the diesel anyday of the week, if nothing else, you will need to make a lot less fuel. You won't have the power, but life is about compramises.
I think it is all on what you want, if you want big horsepower for local wheeling and travel, have cheap and stable access to corn, go ethanol. Otherwise thing diesel.
Thats just my opinion.
