Just a few questions/observations from your new gallery folders.
How did the ruins in Gutemala compare to Machu Picchu? I know for me Machu Picchu blew away Chicheniza in Cancun MX and I am wondering how Guetamala compares.
My GF & I promised to take her Niece & Nephew to Europe next year if they got accepted to a 4 yr college but with the Euro kicking our US $$$$ we are going to try and convince them over the next year to go to Central or South America instead! We will probably be using your photo album to convince them. Unfortunately my Cruiser Deze will not be making the trip.
And lastly this looks like a mouth full.

well there were two of us at the time eating the snickers and honestly they hit the spot. came out of a fridge at a roadside tienda in guatemala.
hard to compare Machu Piccu to Tikal. i would need to think about it to form an adequate response. However I can say without question that Tikal was infinitely better than Chizten Itza. I made the comment to my friend when we left Mexico that Chitzen Itza was a lot lot Disneyland. It was very sanitary and artificial. i don't know if that rings true or makes sense or not but I left there and tulume disappointed. After leavin Tikal i wanted to do nothing but go back for more. Still what I think is a very honest and accurate example of Mayan life. I loved the Guatemalan ruins.
Now compared to MP i'm not sure my experience there was the best to accurately compare. I was sick as a dog the 3 days leading up to it and the train ride up there made me nauseated again. I loved it there. the location was unreal and unequaled. It still had a bit of cleanliness to it that I think devalues the experience. The further they get with the restoration the more I think it will take on that feel too. Tikal were my favorite off all the ruins along my trip. Some of the Spanish colonial stuff in Cartegena would be next. Yes I realize they are not pre-colombian but I really enjoy them. Maybe because it was easier for me to wrap my head around. I could somehow relate to it.
