you took it out of context and perhaps needs a little background. it was more a shot at the texas bar than DD. i pointed out he is a member of the texas bar not just any bar. texas law notoriously takes an exceedingly expansive view of the extent to which a particular state (texas) may take jurisdiction over persons and matters beyond its territorial boundaries. this is a view assiduously supported by many members of the texas bar because it is a source of considerable work for lawyers in texas since the courts in texas routinely take jurisdiction over disputes between parties that, on first or second glance, have very little to do with the great state of texas.
thus there is no small irony in the fact that a lawyer from texas was describing a perfectly logical and widely applied theory and practice of sales tax jurisdiction intended to facilitate taking an expansive jurisdiction over interjurisdictional sales as "patently absurd", notwithstanding that it may not be how they do things in texas (or other states in the union)

It is what is sometimes called the pot calling the kettle black
