My transmission got hot again too. It did NOT like hauling ass in the deep sand of a dry river bed for about 5 miles.
I just parked for a few minutes and it cooled right down. Didn't go as fast for the rest of the river bed.
Wondering if I should invest in a tranny cooler. Probably due for a drain / flush / fill again too.
This was GF's first service on the 62 when I bought it, about 3 years ago. The rear was fine, but the front was murky and like wet cement.
That should've been resolved when I have the knuckles redone however. I think water was coming through a bad seal on them.

The hotter you get it the worse it will pressurise.
Autos hate heat so if you plan on doing the a lot of sand driving in the desert heat I would recommend a tranny cooler or at the least a temp gauge so you can monitor the auto temp and back off the pace if it gets too hot.
