Because IMO (and a few other user's opinions) the speed of mud browsing has
improved albeit slightly. The complexity of the pages has, however, increased. Using a poor browser (or poorly setup browser) or a low bandwidth connection may aggravate a problem that was causing mud to seem slow for you in the first place.
There are often some tweaks you can apply to enhance your experience.
