Now I'm back to thinking about a GTI. I would rather have rwd, but the GTI's are pretty sweet. I like the 2003 20th Anniversary model. I've seen a few nice ones for $10-$12K. I had an 83 GTI in college back in the late 80's/early 90's that I tried very hard to kill. It was pretty beaten when I got it, but I would rev it as high as it would go in 1st gear and it would not die! It was usually a quart low on oile and I changed it about every 10-12K. Freaking bulletproof!

A 1997ish M3 would be nice, but I'm afraid of maintenance and insurance costs?

I'm in no major rush, so I guess I'll keep looking.
