I think of it as just one more expensive device to take care of and keep track of.
I guess what I saw in action was only a fancy computer dictionary/translator. It did do pronunciation. Pronunciation in spanish isn't all that bad though. Chinese brings the suck.
There are iPod programs that do it too.
