If it's going to be a commuter i would think you'd want something "relatively" new. Depends on the length and type of commute you have i guys.

Of the ones mentioned above, i'd think E30 - I6, RWD, still a good interior for the age.

I know i mentioned it in your other thread, but for a fun commuter, the Cooper S looks appealing. The older ones can be had for 10k..ish. Considering they get 29/36 mpg, the extra economy might justify the extra expense. The only issue i have is FWD.
