Swapping 3B, anything to watch for?
I'm going to swap the tired 3B in my 82 BJ42 with a fresher motor. I took a quick look in the FSM and didn't see anything specific about removing and reinstalling an engine.
The 3B that's coming out is the older style, without the "3B" cast into the thermostat housing. The one I'm installing is the newer type. From everything I've read the new one should bolt right in though I may need to use my old engine mounts. (The "new" engine came from Lumpy's old 60.)
Is there anything I should pay special attention to when doing the swap to make my life easier? Any vehicle I've ever swapped engines in always has a few ways to save time or avoid screwing up something that will have to be re-done. I figured it would be best to ask here before I jump into the swap near the end of this month.
