Try to get an 05 or 06 if it fits in your budget. It has more power (240/245 pre 05' - 285 post 05'), and the 5 spd tranny. Even if you go with the V6 its has more power (240hp V6) than the 00-04 Tundra V6's. Double Cabs came out in 04, but it had the smaller motor for that one year. For 05+ they also had some other goodies that were not available before. I ended up with the 04 because I needed the 4wd and I couldnt find what I was looking for in the newer models.
