Thanks for the ideas. I'm not crazy about the JT Outfitters unit - I'd rather have 1/4" steel than 3/16" for starters. But it's there and easy and relatively cheap...

I didn't know about Jeff's webpages. That's very useful, thanks. Maybe I'll end up trying to make this myself after all.

If I do, I might well be doing it via some CNC gear, so I will be able to provide Bellview winch plates... FF LC Nut, could you take a few measurements for me - like overall plate size, and size/location of the cable hole?
