The guy in the blue shirt looks familiar to me and I know that if he's who I'm thinking of he spent stupid amounts of money on guided horseback trips for elk each year for at least twenty years without getting the trophy he wanted. First twelve years he never got an animal at all.
If it IS him I could see him getting to the point of buying his trophy at that price or more if that's what it took.
The guy standing holding the rack looks like one of his kids probably looks by now too, so this has me pretty curious.
