Howdy! I am running the Edlebrock/Carter 500 cfm w electric choke. Less cfm usually means better low rpm performance traded for a little less top end. Quadrajets were factory equipment on Chevy for many years. Probably the easiest to bolt on and drive, especially since that's what you have now. I assume it is beyond rebuild? Just about any carb will need some adjustments or mods. Edlebrock seems to be the least expensive, and simplest to work on. Get one with spring loaded floats, block off the crossover passage in the rear of the body, and run a variable pressure regulator with a gauge. I run about 6 psi on the street, but about 3 in the rocks. Mine runs good under 500 rpm for those "delicate moments" when you really wish you had put in a crawler box! I hate smoking the clutch so I'm not banging in the rocks. John
