not in a 40, but quadra junks (quadra jet) 4 barrells usually work pretty good on 350's.

for a bit more coin, you can go with holley's 650's or 750's. I would think though the 650 would be fine for powering the 40 while also lending itself to better MPG's

I had a holley 750 double pumper on an Ford 360 once and I always had a hard time keeping enough fuel running through the bowls. It always wanted more than I wanted to give to it!
