Hi all, I recently bought a Toyota genuine Integrated key watch for my LC200. I got it from Japan. The LC200 was purchased in Fiji. after exploring around the manual and googling for instructions online my search was futile. The instructions in the provided booklet are in japanese:confused:. The watch does not contain a mechanical key and is supposed to be carried if battery dies in the watch. Does anyone know the programming procedures to add additional smart keys to the cruiser. im talking about adding the wireless smart key only not the mechanical key. The instructions in the booklet got something to do with making the push start button to become in programming state when you follow certain steps.

good luck Shenil. I'll be watching this thread with interest. There's a member here by the name of Mot who may be able to assist you. try PM'ing him.

BTW: How did you get the watch?

Hi Billfish i got it from Toyota shop in Osaka. After telling the sales person the year model they had to freight the watch and other accesories from the factory to them. it took them 2 days...i paid them in advance

shenil,

Thanks for the PM!

When I stopped by at Toyota to inquire about these watches the service manager told me that the device, along with the vehicle would have to be programmed by Toyota. I was under the impression it required some special equipment to carrie it out.

That was not exactly what I wanted to hear, but I just left it at that. :frown:

Anyway, I'll see if I can make out what the instruction says the best I can:

Pic 1 (Left side with pics): When the battery is out, get the screw of the watch close to the starter button. A buzzer should sound.

Within five seconds (from the time that the buzzer starts buzzing?) push the starter switch.

The screw(Not sure if that's the correct term) has to line up close to the center of the starter button, w/in 10mm's.

Pic 1 (Right half): To unlock:
1: Use the mechanical key to unlock.

To switch power:
1: Sit on the DS seat with the key integrated watch.
2: As you step on the brake pedal hold the screw of the watch perpendicular to the starter switch w/in 10mm's from it.
3: The buzzer sounds.
4: After confirming the buzzer release your foot off of the brake pedal and push the starter switch.
*As you push the starter switch the power changes from Off to ACC to On. And while it's on ACC or ON the indicator light on the starter switch illuminates amber/orange.

Starting engine:
1: Sit on the DS seat with the key integrated watch.
2: Make sure that the parking brake is pulled and the shifter is in "P" with AT ("N" with MT).
3: As you have the brake pedal depressed with AT (Brake pedal and the clutch pedal in case of MT) get the screw of the key integrated watch, perpendicular to the entine starter switch w/in 10mm's from the starter switch.
4: The buzzer sounds.
5: After confirming the buzzer sound, press the engine starter switch as you have the brake (and the clutch) pedal(s) depressed.
*Engine starts and the indicator light on the switch turns off.

Not sure if that was exactly what you were looking for.

Sorry it's kind of a sloppy translation job, but hopefully you get an idea of how exactly it works.

I'm not sure what exactly is involved with programming these keys, but I wish I knew and I had some way to help you guys obtain the watch and the ability to use it!

GOOD LUCK!!

Mot

Will give it a try tomorrow first thing. What do you mean "When the battery is out" the bottom of the watch says Don't Open!. Also, when should "1: Use the mechanical key to unlock" be used?.

I meant when the battery of the watch is "dead".

Very interesting subject ... any good news?

I tried the steps but was unsuccessful:frown:. The push button start or the watch is not picking up any signal. i held the watch screw for neally 2 minutes and nothin. Is it possible that the overseas and japanese market security signals from the computer board may be different?.

Absolutely due to FCC regulations and which bands of the spectrum each country uses.

I don't have any details on this, but posted in Mot's thread regarding these Japanese goodies that this would most likely be an issue.

Hope you get it worked out, but I really think they may be using different frequencies.

I'm guessing that if the truck (and the watch?) was not programmed to interact with each other it probably would not work.

And my understanding was that it would have to be done at the dealership, perhaps by using a special equipment.

Shenil

I recommend you ask your dealer to do the same programming procedure of regular Remote Control Smart Key set to your Toyota Integrated Smart Key Watch ... it may work.

Yeah, that might be your/his best bet.

G'luck!

I went to the dealership to get the watch programmed today. they hooked it up with a small meter under the steering to get to the ECU. the tech guy said thats the procedure for adding additional keys. unfortunatly the watch could not be registered to the vehicle. the management recieved email from toyota japan saying that the watch really is only for the japanese market hence the RF Frequency the watch emits for communicating is different from overseas spec landcruisers. I think i need to check with toyota factory direct to make me a watch that has the RF frequency to match my vehicle.

There is no doubting your determination to solve the problem Mate. Good on you and good luck shenil.

shenil,

Bummer!!

Let me knwo if I can do more...
