No. The front bumper can not be cut shorter. There are other things in the way that you'd have to take care of, like the fog lights. You need to decide if you want the ARB or not because your spring choice will matter.

If you don't want it, you could always replace the bumper cover pretty easily. But frankly that would kinda be pointless as you've already managed to mangle one.

EDIT: And if the area on the bumper surrounding the headlamp is cracked or the tabs have been ripped out, you may need to replace it anyways from what I can see in this photo:

...just make sure you get the right springs. It sounds like he's buying a used kit from someone without an ARB.

Yes, I know you were speaking about the bumper. What I'm saying is that it sounds like he is buying the used suspension setup from someone else who DID NOT have the ARB bumper, thus the springs are 702's and not 703 springs. If he get's the bumper as well, these will be the incorrect springs and will need to be changed. Changing a spring costs the same labor as installing new ones, so why not do it correctly from the get-go and save $$$?

You have a land cruiser car? Wow, I didn't know they made one.

You also don't want to post this in the thread showing off wheel damage.

Wow, look at all the expensive **** in your sig line. Perhaps you should make the damned thing run, reliably, before dragging it thru an offroad catalog with a magnet attached! After all the work it took to install all that, I'd thinhk a couple of water leaks should be minor! ~TEXX (IH8MUD member) 10/09

I popped in hoping to see evidence that the guys with 200s might actually wheel them. Leaving more discouraged than I arrived. :(

Wow you guys are just the best! I don't know about you all but I don't go out and TRY and damage my 200 series. We probably have less damage pics because there are maybe, what....umm 10 owners! lol

Go out and damage your rigs on purpose. We prefer not to.

Wasting your time....good, then leave....ADIOS!

The way of the world...

One owns a nice expensive truck.

Don't use it in a situation where potential sigificant body damage may occur and you tend to be a waste, you bought it for nothing, whimp.

Go and use it hardcore, flop it, dent it, all of a sudden you are rich prick who dosn't care, spoiled.

Of course this goes in the othe direction, too. Show up in a beater or on an ATV amongst certain groups and you are redneck hill billy.

Personally, I don't give a rat's ass. As I am wasting my time posting this. It's all good fun.

I'd love to take my Tundra on that Alaska Trek... but I know I won't have the time to get up there to Alaska next year.

The whole thing boils down to this thread! The thread said "post your wheeling damage" All I see is scratches on some paint?
The rigs you drive (200 series land cruisers) are meant to be wheeled. They are designed as an off road vehicle to be taken to the most extreme conditions.
Not the mall or your office...........
I certainly dont try to damage my 60 as I have a ton of money invested in my rig too. However, When I take it on the trail.............$hit happens unexpectedly when you take your rig where it was designed to go! That is where carnage happens!

All we are saying here is ........"what damage?" The thread steered away from the subject on post number 4 and so on.........no damage was reported until late in page 2...thats all. I would love to see a 200 series on the trail....I think they are the cats meow. In fact I wish I owned one to tow my 60 to moab.

Thanks for the update on only 10 people owning 200 series LC's

I really expected a larger number seeing as though I saw 5 at the mall, 6 at my sons soccer game and 4 at Tai-Pan trading co.

You are right.....when a rig gets on the trail, $hit happens. Maybe we are more cautious because of the price of ours....maybe we are just more cautious. Whatever the reason.

I am sorry the thread has 'steered' away from what you think it should be. My apologies. Seriously I am really sorry....can you tell?

Oh and I guess I should have made myself more clear....I meant 10 owners of 200 series on mud.....not in general, my 9 year old son could understand what I mean, I just assumed you could keep up also.

Have a great day!

Oh and...............

People ask me where my dents and scrapes are at from offroad. I reply "I try to keep them below the belt" otherwise known on my truck as, the rhinolining and bumpers. Topside I dont like scratches.

Is this a pissing contest?...............................I'm sure I have more money and time than you! I can also and will take a road trip too. Your only 12 hours drive from me. I didn't insult your intelligence, your the one taking shots at judgement. And your sarcasm only leads me to believe that you are a short small balding man with a small penis that needs a good ol' a$$ woopin!
I hope I see you on the trail...............(highly doubt it though)

i don't wheel my 200 just for the sake of wheeling. i bought it to take me, my gear and when they can come, my family, into undeveloped areas of the pacific northwest. out here, we have a lot of logging roads and cat roads that take you into beautiful country where no one else without a good rig would dare to go. if i break something while doing that, i'll fix it (and, like a lot of people, will try to upgrade the broken item).

someday, if i ever own a '400' series and still have my 200 series, i would love to wheel the 200 for fun and really see how much this amazing vehicle can take. for now, it is my only 'escape' vehicle, and with having a family, lots of spare cash and time for repairs isn't realistic (especially after paying for this beast).

i respect the wheelers out there that have had an opportunity to really get a feel for the amazing capabilities of the land cruisers. i would hope that they would also understand that not everyone who doesn't wheel for fun alone (where things get really f'd up) is not a poser or a mall cruiser.
