Slee has said in every thread that it is an early prototype bumper. Maybe he wants to keep the factory bits unmolested so owners can simply slap on the bumper w/o modification to the exhaust... or whatever reason...he is simply showing some development.
The bumper & sliders & mods transforms the stance of the 200, it's pretty cool. Anxious to see the full meal deal w/ ARB front.
Derek, new forum/new readers get spread with b.s. but usually don't want that stink for very long. They soon figure out what is real what isn't.

You exhaust sounds like a very good idea..Got any pix of it ? This is getting a bit of topic but I would be interested in seeing what others have done, as far as mod go, to their exhast systems. Maybe a new thread idea ??

IH8MUD.com Forum - View Single Post - Foxes are on!
Tucked up nicely. Haven't touched it yet . Whereas I destroyed the OEM resonator and actually put a fairly good size dimple in the small glass pack that replaced it. This is the best solution for me...plus it sounds great IMO (not too loud...I don't like exhaust rumble...) and seems to flow better (subjective...take it for what's its worth).
Sorry for the hijack!

Too true. Like I said, I admit it's a fault of mine, it's hard for me to let stupid remarks go by unchallenged.
Anyway, when I put the 4x4 Labs bumper on my 80, it necessitated cutting off the resonator. I had no issues with it, but that may be because any increase in exhaust noise was drowned by the churning of those 35" mud tires!
Still, IMHO it is not a functional item, just something to help refine the drive. I don't believe there is any noticeable back pressure loss or gain by having it or not having it (though I could be wrong).

The bumper doesn't look too big at all to me. I also noticed the factory rear parking sensors, nice touch!

My first look into the 200 forum and 2 things are always consistant on Mud:
1) Slee is on the leading edge. Awesome work guys. Your work is so impressive.
2) Schotts is still the biggest jackass I have ever web-met.

Well if you have been reading as much as you say you would, you know that there is currently NOTHING out for the 200 Series LC yet.
It is all being released pretty quickly, but not here just yet.
Plus if you READ as much as you say you do, you would know what I have on order and am waiting to come in.
Gosh do you always try this macho shit with people? and do they actually fall for it?
Oh year....btw I am not really worried about trying to impress anyone.

They are making tires for the LC200 aren't they ?? I would say TIRES are one of the most crucial mods that are readily available, right NOW !! I don't think Slee has that corner of the mkt all to himself (yet).

Looks great, Christo...but I do have one minor recommendation.
Flip the door struts on the swing out tire carrier and jerry can basket. Road filth is is gonna collect back there like a mofo, especially when it rains or subjected to a northeast winter. Having the piston up hill is gonna cause that grime to accumulate at the base of the piston, pushing it into the body every time you you swing them out. That will accelerate wear at the seal and lead to possible premature failure. Turn the body uphill, not so much...

Some great 200 parts there, the sliders are really nice, with some streamlining the rear bar will also be a nice unit.

I installed a prototype set of sliders this weekend (at least I think they were prototypes) on our project truck. It went amazingly well, and they seem stout enough for the heavy truck. I did need to drill into the frame to enlarge some holes for a few nut-serts in addition to the factory threaded holes, and there were two bolts on the driver's side near the front that were a bugger since there are some modules from the hydraulic suspension in the way and it takes a bit of jedi mind trickery, yoga, and ninja skill to get them in, but that was only for two bolts. In fact the sliders are designed to use 17!! bolts per slider to hold them up and I wouldn't be afraid to skip one or two if you can't get them all in. (gosh I hope my sliders don't all off, I only used 15 of the bolts )
heres the linky to the photos

Wow. Just read the thread. Slee and the boys have another great protype on their hands. The bumper looks great, and up to the usual high standard. It does look big in the photos, but then it is a big truck, and few new owners of a $70000 truck are going to let you start cutting the frame. I like the way the pivots are recessed in the body.
Who is the lucky person getting the #1 setup?

Looks GREAT!!! Seems like you beat me to being the first one
Christo is shipping mine this week sometime.
The ones I am getting are actually all black with the traction stuff on top. I got 4 kids and cannot risk them slipping on wet metal. Thanks for the update on the install! It will come in handy!
