You hold down the SSP button until you hear a beep after a few seconds. Then you can change the vehicle setting with the volume control knob. I have the newer Scion radio with the round knob in the center rather than the previous style with the keypad in the center. I think it may work on the older ones as well but haven't tried it yet.
